LANTA/METRO SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTE GUIDE
2009-2010

This Snow Emergency Route Guide provides Metro riders with a list of route changes that may be implemented during a declared snow emergency. Route changes may be implemented system wide or by individual route. Below is a list of these routing changes.

Routes are listed alphabetically below followed by the numbered and Starlight routes.

ATC = Allentown Transportation Center

A/VILLAGE WEST - In Allentown, no service on Pennsylvania and 22nd Sts. Bus operates on Tilghman St. between 22nd & Cedar Crest Blvd instead.

B/FREEMANSBURG AVE - In Freemansburg, no service on Main St. Extension bus operates as follows; via Pembroke Rd. and Freemansburg Ave to Route 33 Park N Ride Lot.

B/FOUNTAIN HILL - In Fountain Hill, no service on Fiot St. Bus operates as follows; from Guetter St via regular route to Five Points. Bus continues west on Broadway, turns right on Bishopthorpe St.(bus stop for St. Luke’s Hospital is at Bishopthorpe & Delaware Avenue), bus then turns left on Delaware Ave., turns left on Lynn St., turns left on Broadway and regular route to Guetter & Broad Sts.

C/EASTON-BETHLEHEM VIA NCC - In Easton, no service on Washington St. Bus operates as follows; via Northampton St., turns left on 13th St., turns right on Butler St. and regular route to Bethlehem via Freemansburg Avenue. In South Easton, no service to Shiloh Manor.

In Bethlehem Township, no service to Northampton Community College. Bus operates on the William Penn Highway instead.

D/NORTHAMPTON - In Allentown, no service on Greenleaf and North 4th Sts. Northbound buses to Northampton operate as follows; from ATC turns left on 6th St. turns left on Washington, turns right on MacArthur Road to Lehigh Valley Mall.

In Whitehall, no service on Fairmont Street. Bus operates via MacArthur Rd instead.

In Northampton, bus operates via Cherryville Rd, left on 26th St, left on Held Drive and right on Cherryville Rd.

Southbound from Northampton to Allentown bus operates regular route from 24th & Main Sts. to Lehigh Valley Mall, then via MacArthur Rd., 7th St. to ATC.

D/EMMAUS - In Emmaus, no service on Harrison or 3rd Sts.

Southbound buses from ATC to Emmaus operates as follows: regular route to State Rd. and Harrison St., then via Chestnut St. to East Penn Plaza turnaround.

Northbound buses from Emmaus to Allentown operate from East Penn Plaza via Chestnut St. and State Rd. and regular route to ATC.

No service to Macungie. Bus turns around at East Penn Plaza in Emmaus.

No service to Lehigh Valley Hospital Center. Bus turns around at East Penn Plaza in Emmaus.

E/COLLEGE HILL - In Easton, no service on George and Lafayette Sts. Bus operates as follows; via Cattell St. and Knox Ave. to Forks Plaza. Return to Center Square via Knox Ave., Cattell and N. 3rd Streets.

F/WESTGATE - In Bethlehem, no Spring St. service. Bus operates via Broad St. instead.

F/SOUTH BETHLEHEM - In South Bethlehem, no service on East 4th St. between Hayes and Williams Sts.

Southbound buses from Guetter & Broad Sts. to Park N Ride operate regular route to 4th & Hayes, turn left on Hayes, turn right on Daly Ave, turn left on E 4th, to Park N Ride lot.

Northbound buses from Hellertown and Park N Ride to Guetter & Broad Sts. operate via Hellertown Rd., East 4th St., turn right on Daly Ave., turn left on Hayes St. and turn right on East 4th St.

G/UNION BLVD - In Allentown, no service on North 4th St.

Eastbound buses operate from ATC, right on Church, right on Linden, left on 7th , left on Hamilton, L on 6th, right on Tilghman, to Union Blvd.

Westbound buses operate from Guetter & Broad Sts. to downtown Allentown via Union Blvd to Tilghman St., turn left on 7th St., and turn left on Hamilton, left on 6th to ATC.

G/SUSQUEHANNA - In South Bethlehem, no service on East 4th St. between Hayes and Williams Sts.

Eastbound buses operate from downtown Allentown to Susquehanna St. via regular route to East 4th & Hayes Sts., turn left on Hayes, turn right on Daly Ave, turn left on E 4th.

Westbound buses operate from the Emery & Spillman area via East 4th St., turn right on Daly Ave., turn left on Hayes St. and turn right on East 4th St. No service to Lynnfield Terrace.

No service into Lynnfield Terrance, bus uses Emery and Spillman as turnaround.

H/DORNEY PARK - In Allentown, no service on 11th St. between Linden and Hamilton Sts. Bus operates as follows; via Linden St., turn left on 12th St., turns right on Hamilton St. and regular route.

H/FULLERTON AVE - In Allentown, no service on Gordon St. between N 6th and Front Streets. Bus operates on Tilghman Street instead.

J/BOROLINE - No service on Lexington St., Chapel Ave., and Albert St.

Southbound buses from ATC to Boroline operate via left on 7th, St., turn right on Union St., turn left over 8th Street Bridge, turn right on Lehigh St., turn left on St John St., turn right on So. 6th St., turn left on Wyoming, right on South 5th St., turn right on South 4th St. to Emmaus Ave., turn right on Emmaus Ave., turn right on 33rd St. to South Mall.

Northbound buses from Boroline to downtown Allentown operate via regular route to Emmaus Ave. & So 4th St. The bus turns left Susquehanna St, over bridge, becomes S 5th St, left on Auburn, right on Lehigh, right on Union, left on 6th to ATC.

J/CREST PLAZA - In Allentown, no service on Allen and Liberty Sts, bus operates on Tilghman Street instead.

In South Whitehall, no service to Greenawalds and Roma Office Center. Buses to Crest Plaza operate north on N. 8th St. to Tilghman. Bus turns left on Tilghman St., turns right on 19th, turns left on Walbert Ave., turns left at Cedar Crest Blvd, turns right on Winchester Rd., turns right on Pond Rd.

Southbound buses from Crest Plaza area use Cedar Crest Blvd, Winchester Road, Pond Road and Walbert Ave., turns right on 19th St. and turns left on Tilghman St., turns right on 9th St. and regular route to ATC.

K/PRESIDENTIAL VILLAGE - In Allentown, no service on Washington and 12th Sts. Buses use Tilghman and N 15th Street instead. In Whitehall Township, no service on Presidential Rd.

Northbound buses from downtown Allentown operate as follows: regular route to 8th & Tilghman Sts., turns left on Tilghman St., turns right on 12th St., turns left on Roth Ave., turns right on 15th St., turns right on Highland Ave., turns left on 13th St. and regular route to Whitehall Mall, buses turnaround in Whitehall Square at the Ross store.

Southbound buses from Whitehall Square to ATC operate via regular route to 13th & Highland Sts. Bus then makes a right turn on Highland St., turn left on 15th St., turn left on Roth Ave., turns right on 12th St., turns left on Tilghman St, turns right on 9th to regular route to ATC.

K/LV HOSPITAL CENTER - In Allentown, no service on South 15th and Union Sts.

Westbound buses from ATC to LV Hospital Ctr. operate via Linden, turns left on 15th, turns right on Hamilton, turns left on 24th, turns right on East Texas and regular route to LV Hospital Center.

Eastbound buses from LV Hospital Center to ATC operate via regular route to 24th & Union Sts. From 24th & Union Sts., bus operates north on 24th, turns right on Hamilton St. and east on Hamilton to left on 8th, right on Turner, right on 7th to ATC.

L/LV MALL-PARKWAY SHOPPING CENTER - In Allentown, no service on Allen and Liberty Sts. The bus will operate on Tilghman between 6th and 17th Sts instead.

N/LINE - BERWICK ST - On Easton’s South Side, no service to the Delaware Terrace area and Williams St. Bus operates as follows; via South 3rd St. becomes St. John St. to C-Towne Shopping Center. Bus then operates via Davis St. and Old Philadelphia Rd. to Line St. and regular route to Center Square.

P/STONES CROSSING - In Easton, no service on Lehigh and Washington Sts. Bus operates as follows; from Center Square, west on Northampton St., turns left on 13th St., turns right on Butler St., and regular route.

P/BERWICK LINE ST - On Easton’s South Side, no service to the Delaware Terrace area and Williams St. Bus operates regular route to C-Towne, then bus operates via St. John St., South 3rd St. to Center Square.

S/SLATE BELT - No service to Rosetto. Bus operates as follows; bus turns around in bank parking lot on Rt 191 just past Bangor Borough Hall.

W/SLATINGTON - In Allentown, no service on Chew and Turner Sts. between 17th and 22nd Sts.

Northbound buses from ATC to Slatington operate via regular route to Chew & 17th Sts. From Chew & 17th Sts. bus turns right on 17th St., turns left on Tilghman St. and regular route to Slatington.

Southbound buses from Slatington/LCCC to downtown Allentown operate via regular route to Tilghman, east on Tilghman, turns right on 17th, and turns left on Turner, right on 7th to ATC.

ROUTE 1 / EAST CATASAUQUA - In West Catasauqua, no service on Bridge St. Bus operates as follows; via Orchard Drive and Catasauqua Ave. in both directions.

In Catasauqua, no service on 14th, Walnut St., Howertown Rd., Bridge, Second and Front Sts. Buses operate via Race St. in both directions to and from LVIP/Airport.

ROUTE 2 / FOGELSVILLE - In Fogelsville; no service to Nursery Rd., Sycamore and Penn Drive, and Nestle Way.

Westbound buses from ATC to Fogelsville operate via regular route to West Tilghman St. turns left on Route 100, turns right on Schantz Rd., and regular route.

Eastbound buses from Fogelsville operate return trip in reverse.

ROUTE 3 / TREXLERTOWN - No service to Alburtis, Ancient Oak, Krocks and Lower Macungie Roads. Bus operates via Hamilton Blvd. to Trexlertown Mall.

ROUTE 9 / WEST EASTON - In West Easton, no Ridge, Spring, 7th, Keystone, 3rd and Balata St. service. Bus operates as follows; from 25th & Freemansburg Ave. turns right on Freemansburg Ave., turns right on Stones Crossing, turns right on Nicholas Street to LANTA garage. No front door service to Grandview Terrace and West Easton.

STARLIGHT 1 / LV MALL LOOP - In Allentown, no service on Allen and Liberty Sts. Bus uses Tilghman St. instead. Bus operates as follows; via Tilghman St. between 7th and 17th Sts.

STARLIGHT 3 / ALLENTOWN-EASTON - In Bethlehem Township, no service to Northampton Community College. Bus operates on William Penn Highway instead.

On Easton’s South Side, no service to the Delaware Terrace area and Williams St. Bus operates as follows; via South 3rd St. becomes St. John St. to C-Towne. Bus then operates via Davis St. and Old Philadelphia Rd. to Line St. and regular route to Center Square.

STARLIGHT 5 / ALLENTOWN-EMMAUS - In Allentown, no service on Lehigh Street Hill.

Southbound buses from ATC to Boroline operate via left on 7th, turn right on Union St., turn left over 8th Street Bridge, turn right on Lehigh St., turn left on St John St. turn right on So. 6th, turn left on Wyoming, turn right on So. 5th St., turn right on So. 4th St., continue on So. 4th St. to Emmaus Ave., turn right on Emmaus Ave., turn right on 33rd St. to South Mall.

Northbound buses from Emmaus to downtown Allentown operate via regular route to Emmaus Ave. & So 4th St. turn left on Susquehanna St, over bridge, becomes S 5th St, left on Auburn, right on Lehigh, right on Union, left on 6th to ATC.

STARLIGHT 6 / PALMER PARK MALL - SOUTH SIDE EASTON On Easton’s South Side, no service to the Delaware Terrace area and Williams St. Bus operates as follows; via South 3rd St. becomes St. John St. to C-Towne Shopping Center. Bus then operates via Davis St. and Old Philadelphia Road to Line St. and regular route to Center Square.

NIGHT OWL SERVICE - Buses will operate on posted Snow Emergency roads only.
